How do you know which books to give to children?

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library has a book selection committee comprised of early childhood literacy experts. The book selection committee meets every year to review and refresh the annual book list to keep it up to date and relevant across all of the countries where we operate.

They consider child developmental needs for each age and stage as well as specific themes such as regard for diversity of people, their roles, culture and environment; promotion of self-esteem and confidence, appreciation for art and aesthetics.
